OPC .NET Client SDK

OPC .NET Client SDK

Integration Objects´ OPC .NET Client SDK is the fruit of one year of labor and focus that was used to create a powerful, highly optimized toolkit that integrates the three major OPC Specifications in their latest versions. In fact, this toolkit is fully compliant with OPC DA (1.0a/2.05), OPC HDA (1.10/1.20) and OPC AE (1.10).

The OPC .NET Client SDK is a Windows DLL (Dynamic Link Library) that handles all COM and OPC details needed to interface with OPC servers. It is a tool for fast and easy creation of .NET OPC clients. Using this DLL, .NET custom applications will be able to access data from any OPC server (DA, HDA and AE) without having to be concerned with the details of the OPC standard.

Product features:
Retrieves all OPC servers available on the network.
Manages multiple, simultaneous local and remote connections for OPC Servers.
It offers the following Data Access functionalities:
  • Item browsing.
  • DA group management.
  • Synchronous/asynchronous read and write actions of attributes values, their timestamps and their qualities from the DA servers.

It offers the following Historical Data Access functionalities:
  • Item browsing.
  • HDA Item Management (Validate item, Get handle and release handle).
  • Collecting the historical data from the HDA servers.
  • Aggregates Retrieving over a time range, such as average, minimum, maximum...
  • Synchronous/asynchronous reading of attributes´ values and their timestamps from the HDA servers for a specified time period and a given item.
  • Adding, updating or removing entries to/from the OPC HDA servers.
It offers the following Alarms and Events functionalities:
  • Item browsing.
  • Subscription Management (Add, Remove).
  • Create customized filter constraints to be applied on incoming alarms.
Support of MS Visual Studio 2003 and MS Visual Studio 2005 (VB .Net & C# .Net)

In addition to that, Integration Objects´ OPC .NET Client SDK integrates full client projects for C# .Net and VB .Net in order to help you create your own application step by step. Moreover, Sample demos using the Integration Objects´ OPC .NET Client SDK are ready to use for instant tests and better visualization of Integration Objects´ OPC .NET Client SDK capabilities.

Included also in this toolkit is a context sensitive online help tool to assist you in all your issues and to help you create powerful and reliable clients.

Integration Objects´ products pass OPC Foundation Compliance Testing

Integration Objects is pleased to announce that five of their OPC software products have passed the OPC Foundation's Self-Tested Compliance test. The following products are now OPC Foundation Compliance certified: OPC HDA Server Enterprise, OPC HDA Server for InSQL, OPC HDA Server for MS Access, OPC HDA Server for Oracle and the OPC HDA Server for SQL Server. The "Self Tested" level of testing provides a process where OPC vendors can verify the correct operation of their products with a series of tests developed by the OPC Foundation. These tests determine what features of OPC specifications the product supports and verifies that these features are correctly implemented. You can find our product listing on the OPC Foundation website at the following address: http://www.opcfoundation.org/Products/CompanyDetails.aspx?CM=1&RI=149&CU=5 .

Webinar: OPC Training Institute‚ on February 26th‚ 2009. Register at http://www.opcti.com/webinars.aspx

Integration Objects will co-host a webinar with their partner, the OPC Training Institute, on February 26th, 2009. The webinar is entitled "Upgrading or Expanding Control Systems: What every integrator needs to know". Visit http://www.opcti.com/webinars.aspx to register and please find below further information regarding this informative webinar. The majority of plant upgrades or expansion projects go overtime and over-budget. This is due in part to retrofitting new systems within existing infrastructure. Join the OPC Training Institute and Integration Objects for an online webinar to see how some integrators are cutting costs and time using standards-based technology. Automation personnel, integrators, process control engineers, IT architects and others involved in plant and manufacturing operations are invited to attend the live, online presentation to learn the tools and techniques used to share industrial data among multiple systems and applications. Find out how to:

  • Consolidate plant information in a single console
  • Deploy a console-replacement solution
  • Connect two DCSs together
  • Gather data from disparate control systems
Integrators frequently use OPC technology to connect one Industrial Automation system (PLC, DCS, SCADA, HVAC, etc) with another so data can be shared between the two systems. OPC technology is based on the Client/Server architecture and so technically, two OPC Servers cannot communicate with each other directly. A variety of vendors provide an intermediate software solution, generically called an "OPC Bridge," to facilitate communication between servers. The OPC Data Transfer from Integration Objects is one example of such OPC bridge software. Join the webcast and learn how to fast-track your project to completion using off-the-shelf, standards-based solutions.
For more information and to register for the webinar in any of the available times, please follow this link: http://www.opcti.com/webinars.aspx.
