OPC Server Simulators Release

October 23, 2009 - Integration Objects announced that it has released a free, plug and play solution for testing OPC Client applications: OPC Server Simulators. This tool allows users to test any third party OPC Client application using simulated data and messages.

OPC Server Simulators includes both an OPC DA⁄HDA (Data Access⁄Historical Data Access) server and an OPC A&E (Alarms&Events) server simulator, giving end-users, developers and integrators the ability to conduct tests on simulated real-time data, alarms and events, as well as on simulated historical raw and processed data.

"Using this new, free test tool, OPC developers and integrators can quickly test their OPC client applications without disturbing their control process systems or any ongoing site activities," said Fulvio Roveta, Integration Objects´ European Director, "Our OPC Server Simulators were developed using our server toolkits [OPC Server SDK and OPC Server AE SDK] so these simulators will give our customers a very good idea what to expect when using our development tools."

Integration Objects releases robust OPC tunneling solution for secure real-time, historical and alarms & events data access

March 29, 2010 - The need to securely transfer and access data has never been more prominent and while OPC is the top communication standard for accessing data remotely, having to configure Microsoft DCOM when the OPC client and server applications are installed on two separate machines can cause frustrating security and configuration headaches.

Because of the issues involved with DCOM, such data transfers can be difficult to configure, can encounter errors when network communication is interrupted and can cause security gaps. Regardless of these concerns, however, such configurations are vital - linking business enterprise systems with production systems increases the visibility of the manufacturing supply chain and creates a more agile business environment.

In an effort to provide companies with solutions to their communication configuration obstacles, Integration Objects has released an upgraded version of their OPCNet Broker™ OPC tunneling solution.

OPCNet Broker™ DA HDA AE for industrial network security and connectivity ensures fast, reliable and secure OPC remote communication by bypassing DCOM bottlenecks and by tunneling data through multiple firewalls and domains. It enables networked computers to access OPC real-time, historical and alarms and events data.
